Whimsical, Gelateria & Caffe Publika - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Publika, which is located a little bit outside the main city center of Kuala Lumpur is well known for its multiple cafe and restaurants. Looking today more closely of one of my favorite located there called Whimsical is very well known for its delicious waffles/pancakes and homemade ice cream/gelato.

This cafe has a very pleasant atmosphere, with a terrace where you can sit outside on a nice day enjoying a cold drink with ice cream. Also, has a very nice inside where it's cool with AC and has couches to relax on if you can't handle the KL heat. The staff is as well very friendly.

One of the dishes I recommend getting for a good breakfast/brunch would be the pancake with vanilla ice cream. It is presented with three thin pancakes layered, topped with homemade vanilla ice cream and a final touch of almond and powdered sugar. Pancakes can be so simple to make but the thought of adding almonds gives a crunchy side that is more interesting to eat. This place is known for its amazing ice cream so getting it with the pancake is a MUST since it is not super sweet and light taste. It gives a nice touch to the warm pancakes.

If you are thinking of a drink to go along with pancakes, I will say get the ice teas since they give a refreshing side to any dish you get, and as well it is served in super cute colorful mugs which give an extra touch to your dish and in the photo!

If you want a place that is extremely friendly and good for families breakfast/brunch and that serves very good food Whimsical is a perfect cafe to go to!
